The studio is located in San Francisco, across from the scenic Golden Gate Park. Housed in a beautiful 1920s Victorian building, the two-story space boasts elegant molding details, tall ceilings, and classic bay windows. From here, you can enjoy views of the Pacific Ocean, Downtown, and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.

“I love watching the fog rolling in, hugging the Marin Headlands, passing under the bridge and then swallowing half the city. It feels like a friend who surprises you with their visit and sometimes stays for the entire summer."

Hummingbirds are frequent visitors when Kate is painting scarlet flowers.

Kate is working in both Acrylics and Oils. She hand-mixes heavy texture mediums such as gels & microballoons into vibrant custom pigments.

Meet Toochi, Kate's studio dog. Most days, she can be found sleeping among the artworks, but on other days, she paints alongside Kate! She quickly became a sensation on social media and even launched her own website where she fundraises for her dog rescue.

“She loves learning and she loves treats. It often shocks me how good she is and how expressive her brushstrokes are. She inspires me to just go for it and live in the moment.”

Golden Gate Park is an inspiration paradise. Kate & Toochi spend almost every day walking in the rose garden, exploring the small trails surrounded by fragrant eucalyptus trees, or playing in vast meadows.

“Taking walks in nature is a significant part of my artistic process. I discover something fascinating every time. Some days, I am so overwhelmed by the sense of awe that tears roll down my cheeks uncontrollably.”

The vitality and dynamism of nature has been a great source of inspiration for me. The trees and plants may appear still to us, but they are in constant motion: blooming, changing colors, breathing, and fading.

The Pacific Ocean along the Northern California beaches is wild and powerful. It represents the true essence of freedom, and if we look closely, we’ll see a reflection of ourselves.” – Kate Tova

Tova’s studio often extends to beaches, gardens and forests.
